You could come up with a more beautiful name for this fantastic garden plant! The leaves with their lengthwise veins and tiered arrangement (on two sides) along the stem are already striking and reveal its preference for partial shade and moisture. The reward is the star-shaped, 5 cm large flowers with long calyxes and prominently protruding pistil and stamens. The white color with purple speckles is reminiscent of an orchid! The plant originates from moist forests in Japan. Height 75-100 cm and flowering time Aug-Sept. A late bloomer of the season!
