Cheiranthus cheiri 'Ruby Gem'

  • Product number: 581200
  • Origin: Europe
  • Latin: Cheiranthus cheiri, or Erysimum cheiri

This dark red wallflower is a very popular colour. The sweet fragrance is a delight every year! Height 50 cm.

Wallflowers get their name from their spontaneous germination on crumbling (demolition) walls and/or their frequent planting at the foot of a sunny wall. So they love sun and especially not too much moisture! In such a spot, they self-seed; pruning back old plants in time and mounding up soil often encourages new growth.

Names:
Latin: Cheiranthus cheiri, or Erysimum cheiri
Dutch: Muurbloem
Also: Erysimum cheiri
English: Wallflower
