A tough, cold-resistant columbine with blue-green leaves. The sturdy 60-75 cm long stems bear humorous, 100% double flowers with very short spurs and a wonderfully soft color combination: soft pink fading to white. This columbine was already described by Gerard in 1597 as "very double... many of these small flowers nestling within each other." Plant them with Dame's Rocket and Icelandic Poppies for a springtime feel from romantic gardens of centuries past!
Typical for the flower shape are the petals with short or long spurs and the single or double sepals.
