Tagetes erecta 'Hot Stuff'
- Product number: 555030
- Origin: Mexico, Central America
- Latin: Tagetes erecta
Hot Stuff flowers extra abundantly, is a deeper orange, and is highly rain-resistant! The edges of the petals are beautifully pleated.
Giant-flowered marigolds (5-10 cm in diameter) remind me of my childhood; I loved their scent and enjoyed walking through fields of these big guys. The large spherical flowers are a wonderfully old-fashioned garden decoration, and for the taller types: they're excellent for cutting!
This Tagetes also has an effect against harmful nematodes (eelworms); for more crops, see the chapter "Useful Plants" in the "Disease-repelling Plants" group.
