This sun-loving plant is native to North America and provides our bees with much-needed nectar! The grey-green, beautifully incised leaves form the base for the large, yellow flowers (7-8 cm in diameter) that appear in abundance when it gets a little warmer. Each flower consists of 5 broad petals, tapering to a point, and in the orange-red centre are the beautifully protruding pistils and stamens. The height depends on nutrition and moisture and varies from 30-90 cm.
