The package contains a box of substrate. When opening the box, the substrate should be covered with white mycelium; if not, close the box with the lid and store it for 10–14 days at 20–25ºC. 1. Start cultivation by watering the substrate with 1/4 liter of water (for a 7 1/2 liter box) to approximately 1/2 liter (for 15 and 22 liter boxes), so that the surface is moist. 2. After about 2 weeks, white pins will appear. Now insert a pen or skewer into each corner of the box and place the lid on top, creating an opening of about 3 cm (or use a transparent plastic bag with 4 round holes of 2–3 cm cut into it and place it like a hat over the top of the box). Place the box at 10–15ºC in a room with daylight, but not in direct sunlight! 3. Now ensure that the top of the substrate NEVER dries out. You must therefore moisten the top with a plant mister at least once a day (do not make it wet!) 4. Stems with gray tips, the 'oyster mushroom cluster', will grow from the white pins. Continue to mist daily, otherwise the mushroom will still dry out. HARVESTING: The total harvesting period can be up to three months. A cluster should be twisted out all at once when harvesting; no flesh should remain. Some mushrooms in the cluster will then be slightly overripe (the cap edge will curl upwards) and others too young, but this is unavoidable. When using, cut the mushroom about 1 cm below the gills. The stems, which are a bit tougher, can be used separately for sauces and soups. Now start again at point 3. You can harvest from a box about 3 times. GOOD LUCK WITH THIS PEARL AMONG MUSHROOMS!
