This blue-grey winter oyster mushroom usually yields its first harvest after the first night frost, when the winter weather is mild. The fleshy mushrooms are excellent when fried whole, and thus delight not only the palate but also the eye! You are guaranteed a delicious oyster mushroom dish if you harvest this delicacy when the cap's edge is extended.
Oyster mushrooms grow best on: Birch, Elm, Poplar, Willow, and (thick) Beech (>20cm); they grow reasonably well on Linden and Horse Chestnut.
UPON ARRIVAL OF THE PLUGS, STORE THEM IMMEDIATELY IN THE REFRIGERATOR TO KEEP THEM FRESH!
