After cooking, these have a very fine, floury texture, almost firm, with a distinctly good taste. Another person described the tuber flesh as "firm and finely creamy in taste." The firm-cooking property is inherited from the famous Roseval and the beautiful internal color from Rote Emma. Harvesting can be brought forward by several weeks by planting earlier. Planting time is from mid-April, when the soil is sufficiently warm. Pre-sprouting in the light or in a large pot can be done earlier. Do not place them in too wet a spot, but ensure they get plenty of sun. Mid-early varieties can be affected by the dreaded potato blight (Phytophthora infestans). Some preventative measures include: planting widely, fertilizing with patentkali, not spraying water over the plant, and possibly organic spraying with sulfur or silinal. The average planting distance is 70x40 cm; we recommend 80x40 cm to prevent diseases.

Denominations:
Latin: Solanum tuberosum
Dutch: Aardappel
English: Potato
