A leguminous, annual plant. Legumes are able to fix nitrogen from the air and store it in their roots. When mown and tilled, this becomes available to other plants. Graceful and useful (what more could a garden enthusiast ask for...?).
The bloom is strikingly blood-red in large (up to 4 cm) conical clusters (excellent for vases!) and the height varies from 20-50 cm. Great for planting in a pot!
Do not sow too close together, the plants need space!
100g for 25-35 m²
To avoid depleting your precious soil, it is wise to leave the ground fallow occasionally. During such a period, green manure is ideal: it adds nutrients to the soil through often present nitrogen fixation; it suppresses weed growth, promotes bacterial life, provides humus, and in some cases, works against harmful nematodes.
