A different kind of Buckwheat, extinct in the wild here, originating from Southwest Asia, but widely available again as very fertile varieties. The plants grow large, have big leaves, and bloom profusely with white to pink flowers.
Feel free to eat the young leaves in salads, or briefly cooked, or stir-fried. Due to its strong growth, this is an ideal plant for green manure and as a forage plant for bees. In large-scale cultivation, the seeds are also harvested for many applications. See, for example, https://tartarybuckwheat.com/
