A very tasty lemongrass that grows easily and is an excellent substitute for the thicker, Asian variety. The leaves are narrow and purplish-red at the base. It adds a delicious fresh flavour to e.g. Chinese stir-fries. Also popular in the East in perfumes, oils and medicines.
