This variety has a strong, sweet taste with a hint of lemon, anise, and licorice. Perfect for salads, pesto, and tomato dishes in Italian or Thai cuisine. The compact plants are graceful with glossy, green and purple leaves, often serrated and about 5 cm long. The edible flowers can (when blooming young) be regularly picked to promote good leaf growth.
Basil loves warmth and high humidity. The leaves are widely used in the preparation of soups, sauces, fish dishes, herbs, vinegar, and pickles.
