One of the many edible sorrel varieties, popular for its healthy, extra tart flavor. The leaves remain quite small, are narrow-elongated and arrow-shaped. Harvesting young yields the best quality; a few finely chopped leaves in a salad provide an interesting flavor enhancer! This variety contains Vitamins A, B, C, D, K, E, and 8-12% carotenoids. The small copper butterfly uses this sorrel as a host plant. All parts of the plant are edible.
