Its name already reveals its origin; this medium-sized "flavour bomb" dates back to the time when beautiful regional varieties grew in Russia. From 1898, the seed company Peter Henderson & Co marketed it as 'Sweet Siberian'. The elongated, green fruits can weigh up to 4 kg, and the apricot-coloured flesh is juicy and wonderfully sweet. Although this is a good candidate for open-field cultivation, especially in favourable summers, a grow tunnel is also a good choice.
