The rather large bulbs are adorned with beautiful, purple stripes. This variety originally comes from Shvelisi, Georgia. The bulb contains between 8 and 10 easy-to-peel cloves. Remarkable is its rich flavor with a mild, long-lasting aftertaste. Depending on the weather conditions during growth, it can be spicier or less spicy. Its flavor retention after cooking or baking is excellent! The stems grow gracefully with a single curl.
How delicious can also be beautiful... (or vice versa). This tasty member of the garlic family grows with 1 or more curls in the stem and is (therefore) particularly decorative. Spiral garlic is called hardneck garlic in English and is generally stronger in flavor than the so-called softneck varieties.
