This garlic was brought to America by German and Swiss Mennonites around 1860-1880 and has since been cultivated in the Amish community in Wisconsin. Its rich, robustly hot, and highly aromatic flavour is greatly appreciated. Truly a garlic, as garlic should be!
How delicious can also be beautiful... (or vice versa). This tasty member of the garlic family grows with 1 or more curls in its stem, making it particularly decorative. Spiral garlic is called hardneck garlic in English and is generally stronger in flavour than the so-called softneck varieties.
