A small-fruited variety that remains compact: 60-80 cm high, ideal for growing in pots. The ripe fruits (20 g) are waxy yellow, sometimes with a violet tinge. The taste is mild, fruity and juicy with a slight bitterness: one of the tastiest to eat raw! Fruits that fall are ripe; a little shaking of the plant is allowed.
A nice, trouble-free crop, originally known in Mexican cuisine. Suitable for all kinds of stir-fry dishes. Cultivation is easy: sow indoors early (March) and plant out in a sheltered spot at the end of May. The plants grow 1-1.5 m high and appreciate some support; the yield is about 30-40 fruits per plant. There is no risk of disease. The harvest can be expected from September until frost sets in. Always grow these annual plants in pairs for pollination.
