A not-too-large, beautifully orange beefsteak tomato with plenty of flesh and few seeds inside. According to my American grower, it's one of the best in taste and texture, originally from a Spanish family in Maine (northeast US). The fruits average 250 grams, are indeterminate and ripen in mid-season.

Do you often grow your tomatoes in the same spot, for example in a greenhouse? Then soil-borne diseases can develop, against which rootstocks are resistant, and grafting is therefore recommended:
for grafting tomatoes, use this variety: 291110 Tomato 'Landon'. As an aid, we recommend these grafting clips: 847520 Grafting clip 1.5 mm.

The largest tomatoes in our assortment are called beefsteak tomatoes. This tomato owes its name to the larger amount of flesh (instead of juice). This applies to most varieties in this group, with a few exceptions such as the so-called stuffing tomatoes.

Sowing method: Sow indoors March-May. Transplant into pots when 5 cm tall. Provide plenty of light and harden off outdoors from April when weather permits. Do not plant out before late May. Tomato plants require a lot of water. For this taller or (in a greenhouse) climbing type, side shoots (suckers) should be removed regularly. Plant spacing 60-80 cm.
