The fruits of this flat-round, ribbed beefsteak tomato are brownish-red to shiny deep red. The yield is high and the soft texture combines with a fine, slightly sweet taste. From the name, you can deduce that it is an old French variety that arrived there from Russia. In the greenhouse, the plant climbs to a height of 2m; outdoor cultivation often succeeds well due to its remarkable disease resistance, then the plant remains a little shorter or can be pruned.
The largest tomatoes in our assortment are called beefsteak tomatoes. This tomato owes its name to the larger amount of flesh (instead of juice). This applies to most varieties in this group, with a few exceptions such as the so-called stuffing tomatoes.
