Beef tomato 'Lillian's Yellow Heirloom' / 'Gelbe Riesenfl'

  • Product number: 295461
  • Origin: Central America
  • Latin: Lycopersicon lycopersicum, or also L. esculentum

Forget the expression "the eye wants something too"... The bright yellow fruits often have pink marbling and a green collar, and sometimes even strange growths. But the taste is sublime: deep, complex with rich citrusy but also slightly sweet aromas. The harvest is not large and the fruits contain few seeds, so they will remain rare. This variety is absolutely not mealy.

Do you often grow your tomatoes in the same place, for example in a greenhouse (or small greenhouse)? Then diseases can develop in the soil, to which rootstocks are resistant and for which grafting is therefore recommended:
for grafting tomatoes, use this variety: 291110 Tomato 'Landon'. As a tool, we recommend these grafting clips: 847520 Grafting clip 1.5 mm.

The largest tomatoes in our assortment are called beefsteak tomatoes. This tomato owes its name to the larger amount of flesh (instead of juice). This applies to most varieties in this group, with a few exceptions such as the so-called stuffing tomatoes.

Names:
Latin: Lycopersicon lycopersicum, or also L. esculentum
Dutch: Vleestomaat (Beefsteak tomato)
