Beefsteak tomato 'Gigantomo' F1

  • Product number: 295417
  • Origin: Central and South America
  • Latin: Lycopersicon lycopersicum, or also L. esculentum

After 20 years of intensive breeding work, we present this giant fruit. You won't easily find a larger tomato; this variety produces fruits weighing 500-1500 grams! The climbing plants are quite resistant to common diseases, but cultivation in a greenhouse is recommended. Thinning the trusses to 1 fruit per truss yields the largest results. The tasty record-breaking fruits (up to 25 cm in diameter) truly steal the show!

Do you often grow your tomatoes in the same spot, for example in a greenhouse? Then soil-borne diseases can develop, against which rootstocks are resistant, and therefore grafting is recommended:
for grafting tomatoes, use this variety: 291110 Tomato 'Landon'. As an aid, we recommend these grafting clips: 847520 Grafting clip 1.5 mm.

The largest tomatoes in our assortment are called beefsteak tomatoes. This tomato gets its name from the larger amount of flesh (instead of juice). This applies to most varieties in this group, with a few exceptions such as the so-called stuffing tomatoes.
