Medium-sized Tomato 'Goldnuss' / 'Solotoj Orech'
- Product number: 293244
- Origin: Russia
- Latin: Lycopersicon lycopersicum, also known as L. esculentum
This small truss tomato (60-100 g) is a historic variety from Russia. Irina Zacharias brought it with her from her parents in Moscow. Russian old varieties often excel in very good taste and healthy growth... This is also true for this warm yellow, moderately climbing tomato.
Irina now lives in Germany and is one of the most well-known tomato collectors.
This group of tomatoes are in-between cherry tomatoes and beefsteak tomatoes in size: medium-sized, in other words. Each has its own unique character. The climbing varieties ripen somewhat later than the compact varieties and are therefore more successful under rain protection: a lean-to, greenhouse, or growing tunnel.
