Cherry Tomato 'Severnaya Malutka' / 'Northern Babe'

  • Product number: 291745
  • Origin: South America
  • Latin: Lycopersicon lycopersicum, also known as L. esculentum

A Russian cold-resistant top performer, compact growth (60-90 cm), quite disease-resistant (also against Phytophthora), and early harvesting. The small fruits (20-60 g) grow in large numbers and have a good taste.
Do you often grow your tomatoes in the same place, for example in a greenhouse? Then diseases can develop in the soil, which rootstocks are resistant to, and grafting is therefore recommended:
for grafting tomatoes, use this variety: 291110 Tomato 'Landon'. As an aid, we recommend these grafting clips: 847520 Grafting clip 1.5 mm.

The smallest tomatoes in our assortment are called cherry tomatoes or ping-pong tomatoes, depending on their size. Some varieties are elongated or heart-shaped and are accordingly given a slightly different name. Some are even original, wild species. Most taste extra sweet, a few have a sweet and sour taste. Cherry tomatoes are closest to the original species, which is probably why they are generally more resistant to the dreaded potato blight.

Names:
Latin: Lycopersicon lycopersicum, or also L. esculentum
Dutch: Pingpongtomaat
