Spontaneous field crosses between the common wild tomato (L. esculentum) and the Galapagos tomato (L. cheesmanii) yield red and brownish-red, round and olive-shaped fruits with an excellent taste! Let yourself be surprised by this delicious mix of vigorously growing plants (up to 3 m!). Disease resistance is high!
We call the smallest tomatoes in our assortment cherry tomatoes or ping-pong tomatoes, depending on their size. Some varieties are elongated or heart-shaped and are accordingly given a slightly different name. Some are even original, wild species. Most taste extra sweet, a few have a sweet and sour taste. Cherry tomatoes are closest to the original species, which is probably why they are generally more resistant to the dreaded potato blight.
