This vigorously growing ping-pong tomato yields delicious, yellow fruits with a mild, pleasantly sweet taste. The fruits weigh an average of 25-40 grams, and the plants can easily reach 3 meters in height in a greenhouse. Their resistance to Phytophthora in outdoor cultivation is remarkably good; we'd love to hear your findings! Each truss contains about 10 fruits, and the harvest is early and abundant.
The German Dr. Bernd Horneburg developed this variety in collaboration with our grower, in a project to cultivate Phytophthora-resistant tomatoes.
The smallest tomatoes in our assortment are called cherry tomatoes or ping-pong tomatoes, depending on their size. Some varieties are elongated or heart-shaped and are accordingly given a slightly different name. Some are even original, wild species. Most taste extra sweet, while a few have a sweet and sour taste. Cherry tomatoes are closest to the original species, which is probably why they are generally more resistant to the dreaded potato blight.
