Beautiful blonde-green dwarf lettuce, which already conquered hearts in the 19th century. This miniature variety quickly matures in any location (garden, planter, flower pot, etc.). The names under which this variety is known reveal all its characteristics. The fast-growing heads are (figuratively) as big as a tennis ball, but usually a bit larger... Harvestable at any stage, the lettuce starts loosely, until the center develops a heart and eventually a head forms. This variety performs best in early and autumn cultivation. The old term "steeksla" (cut-and-come-again lettuce) indicates that Gele Gotte was formerly also grown as cut lettuce. This is still possible; we provide enough seeds in the packet. Sow them close together for this purpose and harvest the lettuce by thinning it out, allowing the remaining lettuce to grow into heads.
