Red Butterhead Lettuce 'Brune d'Hiver'

  • Product number: 251830
  • Origin: Europe
  • Latin: Lactuca sativa var. capitata

Vieux c'est Mieux (Oldies but Goldies...) is a fitting saying for this old French variety, which was introduced as early as 1855. The color is green with reddish-brown (more color with more sun) and the texture is soft and slightly bumpy. One of the few red lettuces that can withstand autumn well and even overwinters well under glass!

Names:
Latin: Lactuca sativa var. capitata
