What a beautiful, historic Calabash! Let's talk about the taste first: the fruits are full of dark orange flesh of very good quality! Firm in texture, rather sweet, refreshingly fruity, in short, very good in taste. The fruits (15x25 cm) have a sturdy rind, gracefully warty, ripening from green to terra-brown and can be stored for a very long time.
This pumpkin is actually called: Jacare, which means Alligator in the Guarani language.

Pumpkins can be grown outdoors without any problems. The growing tips can be pruned regularly and are edible! Harvesting in dry weather provides the best storability. All pumpkins are edible!
