Pepper 'Aci Kil Menderes'

  • Product number: 207679
  • Origin: Central America
  • Latin: Capsicum annuum

A hot Turkish pepper with long, very thin fruits. Ideally suited for growing in pots on the patio, balcony or windowsill. The plant is very decorative due to its beautiful fruits and does not grow taller than 50 cm. The fruits can grow up to 15-20 cm long, but are no wider than 1 cm. In July-August, there can be as many as 50 peppers on one plant. Excellent for use in hot dishes. Freezing or making your own sambal is, of course, also an option. The plant can be overwintered indoors (cool place in front of a sunny window, water sparingly, prune if necessary and check carefully for especially spider mites). The reward is an extra early harvest the following year. In Turkish tradition, the peppers are harvested GREEN; they ripen red later and are then somewhat sweeter.
