RARE! This melon comes from the Zapotillo area in Ecuador, an area where conditions are hot and dry and where this beautiful white-fleshed melon thrives. The fruits are large with a smooth yellow skin and deep ribs. Melons can weigh up to 5 kg each. It is a traditional and increasingly rare landrace that is likely threatened with extinction. In a greenhouse, this melon is very easy to grow, as it tolerates very warm conditions and not too much water... Harvest the fruits when they change color and become fragrant. These very tasty melons can be eaten fresh and in salads, or can be juiced for a healthy drink!
