Baking and Ornamental Corn 'Mergoscia'

  • Product number: 190871
  • Origin: Central America
  • Latin: Maize

This beautiful, historic variety was saved by the Swiss seed club ProSpecieRara. The fairly compact plants produce an average of 2 cobs with golden yellow corn kernels relatively early. Beautiful for ornamental purposes, but mainly used for grinding and then baking. Making the Italian dish Polenta is very popular, and Mergoscia is probably the best variety for making a fine Polenta.
