A rare crop from Central America. The plant grows to 50-70 cm (outdoors) and is covered in thin prickles. The beautiful white to sky-blue flowers develop into clusters of spiny fruits, just like chestnuts. When the husks open, the red fruit (with a diameter of 3 cm) appears. After a short period of ripening, you can bite into it. The sweet and sour, fresh Litchi taste is unmistakable. There are many uses: simply eat it fresh, cooked, or processed into jam (delicious with strawberries!). Finally, a very special property: the plant is a promising killer of the potato cyst nematode!
