Beautiful, historical pointed cabbage, you rarely see them this pointed! Grown in fertile soil, heavy heads are easily produced, up to 4-5 kg per head! Deliciously tender, full of flavour, sufficiently firm and fine in texture. You can also make a great sauerkraut from it. Because of the latter, this variety was widely grown near Stuttgart: the name refers to cultivation in Filder, a higher-lying plain in the middle of Baden-Württemberg (Southern Germany).
A customer wrote to us: "I have this pointed cabbage next to Brussels sprouts, kohlrabi and kale, and they are all full of aphids and whiteflies, but strangely enough in the Filderkraut pointed cabbage: no caterpillars, no aphids, no whiteflies, nothing of the sort... I'm sure you'll find this information useful!" I would love to hear more experiences in this area! Actually a type of White Cabbage, distinguished by faster growth and pointed head shape.
