Prolific creamy-white cucumber, which also has very pale flesh internally. When harvested young (e.g., at 15 cm length), the fruits are full of spiky bumps and slightly pointed in shape; when fully grown, the fruits can reach up to 50 cm in length and then turn yellow-green. The riper, the softer the flesh and the more seeds in the cucumber. The taste is mild and pleasant. White cucumbers are special nowadays, but at the beginning of the 20th century, green ones were more uncommon! They are usually less watery than modern green varieties and grow well in open ground.
For grafting cucumbers, use this variety: 133000 'Boule de Siam'. As an aid, we recommend these grafting clips: 847525 Grafting clip 2.5 mm.
GENERAL INTRODUCTION TO CUCUMBERS:
Cucumbers that develop long vines can be pruned regularly. For outdoor cultivation (depending on the variety), a reasonable summer is needed, and all varieties grow well in a greenhouse. Sometimes it is advisable to let the plant grow outdoors if fruit set fails! Cucumbers are usually harvested unripe, unless the skin becomes exceptionally beautiful upon ripening. Unripe fruits are sliced and used raw in salads; ripe fruits can be scooped out like a melon. Many small cucumber-like fruits or (extremely) young harvested fruits are eaten as gherkins (pickled) or as a healthy snack with a drink or meal. Pay attention to the individual description of our species and varieties; some are purely ornamental and NOT edible!
