Professional improvement of the old type with bright white skin. Very popular in the 19th and early 20th century, but now back in the spotlight.
The harvest length of this fresh, tasty cucumber is 20-30 cm, but it's also fun to let a few grow to their full 50 cm length; the flesh is then softer and yellow. This cucumber grows very well in the greenhouse and, during most summers, well outdoors.
For grafting cucumbers, use this variety: 133000 'Boule de Siam'. As an aid, we recommend these grafting clips: 847525 Grafting clip 2.5 mm.
GENERAL INTRODUCTION TO CUCUMBERS:
Cucumbers that develop long vines can be pruned regularly. For outdoor cultivation (depending on the variety), a reasonable summer is needed, and all varieties grow well in a greenhouse. Sometimes it is advisable to let the plant grow outdoors if fruit set fails! Cucumbers are usually harvested unripe, unless the skin becomes particularly attractive when ripe. Unripe fruits are sliced and used raw in salads, while ripe fruits can be scooped out like a melon. Many small cucumber-like fruits or (extremely) young harvested fruits are eaten as gherkins (pickled) or as a healthy snack with a drink or meal. Pay attention to the individual descriptions of our species and varieties; some are purely ornamental and NOT edible!
