This funny, very unknown fruit grows on a quite compact tree, which you can easily keep as a potted plant. Outdoors in summer and indoors in winter. After a few years of growth, the plant will already bloom with beautiful, spherical flower clusters. The round fruits are 5-10 cm in diameter and have the dimples of a golf ball. The unique taste is reminiscent of an apple with the texture of a pear. The plant or tree grows in West Africa and likes a lot of water. The fruits are not commercially grown, but are offered in local markets, very popular with the population (and many animals) where the plant grows in the wild.
