Courgettes can be grown outdoors without any problems. This variety is non-trailing; the fruits grow from the centre of the plant. For consumption, harvest the fruits when young to very young. For decorative purposes, let them grow larger, then they can be stored.

(Too) large a harvest? Fry a quantity of chopped courgettes, onions, and garlic. Then puree and freeze. After thawing, this, together with broth, forms a great base for soups. If the courgette is a bit too large: Peel and deseed, then shave completely with a vegetable peeler or cheese slicer to create courgette ribbons, beautiful white strands. Sprinkle with salt and let drain. Then mix well with two generous tablespoons of chopped chives, the same amount of burnet leaves, and the same amount of mayonnaise. Here you have a delicious salad for approximately 4 to 8 people, depending on the courgette. Per 15 cm courgette length and a circumference of 25 cm, this is enough for 1 to 2 people, depending on whether it's a main course or a side dish...
