One of the few climbing courgettes. Let them climb or crawl, the fruits of this historic variety are dark green with light green stripes.

Courgettes can be grown outdoors without problems. This variety trails and can be tied up like a climbing courgette. Harvest the fruits young to very young for consumption. For ornamental purposes or for consumption as a pumpkin, let them grow larger, then they can be stored.

(Too) large harvest? Sauté a quantity of chopped zucchini, onions, and garlic. Then purée and freeze. After thawing, this, together with broth, forms a good base for soups. If the zucchini is a bit too large: Peel and deseed, then shave completely with a vegetable peeler or cheese slicer to create zucchini ribbons, beautiful white strands. Sprinkle with salt and let drain. Then mix well with two generous tablespoons of chopped chives, the same amount of burnet leaves, and the same amount of mayonnaise. This makes a delicious salad for approximately 4 to 8 people, depending on the size of the zucchini. For every 15 cm of zucchini length and a circumference of 25 cm, it's enough for 1 to 2 people, depending on whether it's a main course or a side dish...
