Chicory 'Mechelse Middelvroege' 3000 Seeds (5g)

  • Product number: 071050
  • Origin: Europe
  • Latin: Cichorium intybus

An old, familiar variety. In earlier times, this was one of the earliest to be harvested. After forcing, it still produces a good head!

The chicory family includes endive, frizzy endive, and various types of chicory. A characteristic feature is the more or less present "bitterness," once reviled and now highly appreciated. Let a plant "bolt" sometime: chicory flowers are usually beautifully blue in color and smell of vanilla!

Latin: Cichorium intybus
