Green Loaf 'Pan di Zucchero' / 'Green and Blond' 3g

  • Product number: 070000
  • Origin: Europe
  • Latin: Cichorium intybus

ORGANICALLY GROWN SEEDS! A delicious chicory, sweeter than most other varieties and a long-time favourite among hobbyists in our low countries for late cultivation! The flavour of the heads is somewhere between endive and pointed cabbage; cultivation is similar to winter endive. Preparation: (briefly) stewed or raw in salads.

The chicory family includes endive, frizzy endive and various types of chicory. Characteristic is the more or less present "bitterness", formerly reviled and now highly appreciated. Let a plant "bolt": chicory flowers are usually beautifully blue in colour and smell of vanilla!

Names:
Latin: Cichorium intybus
