An old brown-seeded variety from 1907 with deliciously soft, flat pods, light green in colour. This used to be a popular variety for "forcing", i.e. pre-sowing under glass to get a quick harvest (in 50 days!). Every year we run short of seeds of this remarkable old variety because of its very good (old-fashioned) taste! The variety has since been made stringless, which is the only improvement that has been "bred in" over time. A tip for dry bean lovers: let a few plants ripen, the (light brown) beans are delicious!
