Orange mint has a hint of citrus scent and grows very easily, but hardly spreads invasively. Give it a moist spot with some shade. Prune the plants annually to achieve good regrowth; occasionally taking cuttings will provide the necessary rejuvenation.
Most mint species of the genus Mentha grow in sun or shade. In the sun, the most compact growth and the most intense color, scent, and flavor are achieved. Each species goes through 2 growth stages: in spring, there is an upward growth spurt for flowering. After that, horizontally (hard) growing runners develop, which grow into new plants elsewhere. Bees and butterflies love mint flowers.
