Basil mint has shiny, slightly elongated leaves, red-green in colour with an elegant purple bloom. This mint pairs perfectly with Italian dishes such as pasta and fish salads and is, of course, the most beautiful flavour transition to real basil.
Most mint varieties of the genus Mentha grow in sun or shade. In the sun, the most compact growth and the most intense colour, scent and taste are achieved. Each variety goes through 2 growth stages: in spring, there is an upward growth spurt before flowering. After that, horizontally (hard) growing runners emerge, which develop into new plants in a different location. Bees and butterflies love mint flowers.
