A tasty, versatile mint from Asia, which is also often used there for medicinal purposes and for the production of menthol. Delicious in tea and in dishes. The leaves are slightly hairy and fresh green with white to very light lilac clusters of flowers in the axils.
Most mint varieties of the genus Mentha grow in the sun or in the shade. In the sun, the most compact growth and the most intense color, scent, and flavor are achieved. Each variety goes through 2 growth stages: in spring, there is a growth spurt upwards for flowering. After that, horizontally (hard) growing runners emerge, which develop into new plants in another place. Bees and butterflies love mint flowers.
