We receive sparse information about this variety, which was probably cultivated around Aalsmeer. There is talk of a close relationship with the strawberry 'König Albert von Sachsen' from 1878. Here is information about that old variety: Breeder Gottlieb Goeschke. This first serious German breeder has cultivated 20 top varieties. 2 of them ('Hohenzollern' and this variety) remained in use the longest and remained very popular until the early 1950s. Now that taste is becoming more important than production, there are plenty of opportunities again for this aromatic strawberry. The rather small fruits come in a considerable number from the plant! They are round to conical, very soft-fleshed, have firm seeds (good for digestion) and a pleasantly sour aftertaste. Give them enough manure and not too wet soil (ridge cultivation).

Our strawberry collection partly consists of rare old varieties, which are only available in limited quantities. It is therefore possible that the waiting time is long. In July, a new crop is potted annually by our grower, which is delivered in August-September. In April-May, we can supplement part of this assortment. Please note that postage costs apply for any subsequent deliveries?
