This is actually a wild strawberry, brought to England from North America around 1900 by C.J. Wilkin of the canning company Wilkin & Sons. Perhaps selection has led to a somewhat higher yield... but above all, medium-sized, deliciously sweet and aromatic fruits still keep this variety very much alive. Wilkin & Sons makes a famous (and expensive!) jam from it!
Our strawberry collection partly consists of rare old varieties, which are only sporadically available. Therefore, the waiting time may be long. Every year in July, our grower pots a new crop, which is delivered in August-September. In April-May, we can replenish part of this assortment. Please note that postage costs may apply for any subsequent deliveries?
