A very hardy and elegant shrub that blooms early in spring with clusters of snow-white flowers, very useful for bees! After flowering, the clusters produce: quite large, steel-blue berries that are ripe in July. These are sweet and sour and very healthy, delicious in a dessert or processed into juice or jam... This Russian variety yields extra large and tasty fruits. The plants are self-pollinating, but another variety (e.g. 'Northline') as a neighbor gives an even better yield.
