Soil improvement Basalt lava granules / primary rock granules

To enrich or maintain the fertility of all soil types. The most fertile soils in the world are found around volcanoes. These hard, porous lava granules (0-3 mm) of natural origin slowly release fertile minerals after rain and are also very suitable for aerating or draining heavy soils. Mix the granules into the top layer of your garden or containers. You can also mix the fine granules with potting soil; cacti, succulents, or rock plants, in particular, can benefit greatly from extra drainage. If you use the lava granules as a top dressing, they will act as a mulch to prevent evaporation (and thus too rapid drying out).
