(1986) A lovely, early-flowering garden variety with large flowers, but compact and sturdy enough to keep the flower upright... The height is 60-80 cm and the semi-double flowers start dark lavender-pink, with a lighter bloom. This is a so-called Itoh hybrid, which is a cross between the tree peony and a herbaceous peony.
After years of experience in the Netherlands, our grower has put together a TOP assortment of the most beautiful and successful peonies.
They grow in all soil types:
In clay, growth is problem-free, do not fertilize too much and ensure good drainage.
In sand, the plants remain somewhat smaller, sufficient fertilization keeps the plant at its best.
In peat soil, growth generally goes well, however, the plants will need to be replanted or replaced slightly earlier.
Place peonies in a sunny spot, plant them (immediately upon arrival) so shallowly that there are only a few cm of soil above the crowns, first press the soil down.
We supply bare root tubers, each plant has grown for 4-5 years, so the chance of quick blooming is high! Some varieties grow into their intended, (double) form as they get older. Colors can vary slightly from year to year and depend on the preceding winter cold. Because we have to wait until the plants have died off naturally, the root tubers are available EARLIEST FROM OCTOBER.
