Within the genus Erythronium, this is the most popular and easiest to grow species, 25 cm high. They already bloom in March with pink-purple or white flowers. An extra surprise is the blue-green foliage with large brown speckles.
One of the most graceful spring bloomers, difficult to grow but well worth the effort. The name refers to the pointed tubers, which resemble dog's teeth. Place them in a semi-shaded spot. The leaves of most species are beautifully mottled and form a nice base.
